Abstract
A new perovskite-related compound, Y2Ba3Cu3CO3O12, has been synthesized by solid state reaction. Its structure is tetragonal with a = 3.878(2) Angstrom and c = 19.193(8) Angstrom; XRD and HREM investigations indicate that it consists of a regular intergrowth of YBa2(Cu, Co)(3)O-7 and YBa(Cu, Co)(2)O-5. Possible modifications of this compound by chemical substitution are discussed. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
