Abstract

A palladium/imidazolium chloride system has been used to catalyze the Heck reaction. The combination of 2 mol% Pd(OAc)(2) and 4 mol% IMes . HCl in the presence of Cs2CO3 as base has proven to be a highly efficient system in mediating Heck reactions of aryl bromide with n-butyl acrylate.
