Abstract

The reaction of the dithiolene [Pd(Et(2)timdt)(2)] (Et(2)timdt = formally monoreduced diethylimidazolidine-2,4,5-trithione) with Br-2 or IBr yields the complex [Pd(Et(2)timdt)Br-2], a good starting material for the synthesis of novel push-pull mixed-ligand Pd-dithiolenes. The synthesis and characterisation of the unsymmetrical dithiolene [Pd(Et(2)timdt)(mnt)] (mnt = maleonitriledithiolato dianion) is also reported. ((C) Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
