Abstract

The new cationic iridium carbene complex [Ir(cod)(py)(SIMes)]PF6 (2) has been synthesized by reaction of [Ir(cod)(py)(2)]PF6 with SIMes. Complex 2 is an active hydrogenation catalyst capable of hydrogenating simple olefins at roam temperature and atmospheric pressure of hydrogen.
