Abstract

In the title compound, C9H9N2OS+.Cl-, the cations exhibit amidinium-type delocalization of the positive charge. The ions are linked by one O-H...Cl hydrogen bond and two N-H ...Cl hydrogen bonds into chains of edge-fused R-4(2)(11) rings. The chains are linked into sheets by a pi-pi stacking interaction.
