Abstract

In the title compound, C10H28N44+.4C(6)H(6)O(3)P(-).2H(2)O, the cation lies across a centre of inversion in space group P2(1)/n. The two independent anions and the water molecule are linked by four O-H...O hydrogen bonds [H...O = 1.74-2.15 (3) Angstrom, O...O = 2.5482 (14)-3.0438 (16) Angstrom and O-H...O = 160-176 (2)degrees] into sheets containing equal numbers of centrosymmetric R-6(6)(16) and R-10(10)(36) rings. The cation lies at the centre of the R-10(10)(36) ring and is linked to it by eight N-H...O hydrogen bonds [H...O = 1.77-1.98 Angstrom, N...O = 2.6756 (15)-2.8168 (16) Angstrom and N-H...O = 151-169degrees].
