Abstract
В статье представлены основные этапы изучения РКИ в Великобритании, начиная с XII века по сегодняшний день. Описываются первые учебные пособия для англоговорящих учащихся, история становления кафедр славистики в ведущих университетах, а также современная ситуация в изучении РКИ в школах, высших учебных заведениях и в условиях курсового обучения в Объединенном королевстве.
The article deals with the main stages of the Russian language learning in Great Britain starting from the XII centaury up to the present time. The first teaching materials for English-speaking audience are being described alongside with the history of Slavonic studies in the leading British universities. The present situation of the Russian language learning in schools, universities and institutes of further and higher education is being discussed.
