Abstract
The literary career of Ramón Gómez de la Serna (1888–1963) in his Argentine exile (1936–1963) has not been sufficiently treated. One of the most curious chapters is his relationship with the Spanish politician and exile Joaquín Maurín and his American Literary Agency (ALA). Through ALA, between 1957 and 1963, Gómez de la Serna gained economic stability and a level of distribution of his journalism that surpasses his best years in the 1920s. This article traces the history of this commercial and cultural relationship through unpublished documentation.
