Description

Fortissat Science Alliance was a Children in Need/Wellcome Trust funded project to support youth and community groups to engage young people with STEM subjects. Dr Kirsty Ross supported the community worker with project management and connections to researchers throughout Scotland and beyond. Typical activities included identifying podcast guests and supporting the delivery of onsite STEM workshops. Outputs from the project included: podcast recordings, researcher profile pages, workshops connected to EXPLORATHON (another public engagement project) and evaluation data. Ongoing impact of the project has been increased engagement with community groups and identifying funding sources to maintain an ongoing relationship through the School of Computer Science. Co-funded by Children in Need and Wellcome Trust.
