The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences invited her for this prestigious award in recognition of her work as International Coordinator of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study from 1995-2015. The faculties of the University award honorary doctorates to persons with meritorious work for the benefit of science and society as well as with long lasting cooperation with the researchers at the faculty. The Conferment of Degree Ceremony took place on 13 August 2016 at the University of Jyväskylä.
