Personal profile

Research overview

I work in aesthetics and philosophy of art, with particular interests in some topics overlapping with issues in ethics, epistemology and philosophy of mind. My doctoral research investigated the limits of the aesthetic and defended the view that responses involving the so-called ‘lower-senses’ (e.g. smell, taste, and touch) are relevant to our aesthetic appreciation of art and non-art artefacts. My current research is concerned with moral learning from fiction, the reliability of aesthetic introspection, and the role of epistemic injustice in the marginalisation of various aesthetic practices.
