Personal profile
Research overview
My research investigates large-scale weather and climate variability, predictability and change from daily to multi-decadal timescales, with a focus on subseasonal and seasonal timescales in the extratropics. This includes understanding fundamental physical processes, quantifying model biases, and developing frameworks to extract usable information from forecasts.
Specific areas of current research include the stratospheric polar vortex, weather regimes, annular modes, jet streams, large ensembles and extreme events.
