Research overview

Sharon started her PhD in 2022 with a focus on how digital technologies can be utilised in the creation of digital cultural landscapes, recording heritage, and recreating contexts in the digital medium. She is looking at how climate change impacts tangible and intangible heritage, how this is affecting community identities and how digital tools can be used to recreate heritage in danger.

Her work spans 3D scanning, 3D modelling, mixed reality, and emergent media and contributes to questions relating to cultural heritage, community work, and sustainable development.
