Sam's research focuses on the nature of depiction and representation in photographic and cinematic art; perceptual experiences relating to perceptual media, such as sounds and images; the aesthetic and epistemic value of pictorial representations; and aesthetic experience. He is currently working on a project examining the concept of realism in film.
