Research overview

The primary motivation of my research is to further understand the metamorphic processes that operate in the continental crust and the role these processes play in crustal evolution during orogenesis. I have approached this by developing the thermodynamic models needed to investigate these processes and by applying the models to better understand how the processes impact the rock record. My research involves integrating information from field work, petrology, geochemistry, geochronology and thermodynamic modelling to address problems in metamorphic geology.
