Personal profile

Research overview

I apply sedimentology and stratigraphy to reconstruct environmental and landscape change over different timescales, to understand their intrinsic behaviour, and the influence of external controls (sea-level, climate, tectonic, anthropogenic) on them. I am particularly interested coals and thier precursor (peats), and the opportunity legacy mining data affords to understand past climates and environments.
