PhD projects

I am particularly interested in supervising projects exploring the intersection between theory and practice, specifically focusing on flipped learning, academic literacies, or online learning.

Personal profile

Research overview

I am interested in links between educational research and classroom practice. My EdD focused on Flipped Learning and Motivation in the EAP classroom, and I continue to research this area. Academic Literacies and pedagogies in the higher education context are key areas in my research.

I am a committed practitioner and researcher. I am a member of the international research group PROMETEO (Professionalization of Multilingual Education, Translation, and E-learning Observatory, UNIR). I am also the book review editor of the BALEAP Research and Publication subcommittee, and I welcome informal queries from prospective book and article reviewers. I act as a peer reviewer in EAP and HE-focused journals. I serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Learning Development in Higher Education, and I am a mentor at ALDinHE. Additionally, I am a mentor and assessor for HEA fellowships awarded via the St Andrews Recognition Scheme (STARS).
