Patricia Kelly is a systematic historical theologian, whose research focuses on ressourcement theology (the work of French interwar theologians, which contributed to the Second Vatican Council), the twelfth-century renaissance, and the French Church of the long nineteenth century. Her Ressourcement Theology: A Sourcebook was published by T&T Clark in 2020. She was Co-Investigator (with Dr George Corbett) on the 'Mandonnet: Dante the Theologian' project, in press in Brepols' Studia Traditionis Theologiae series. Patricia is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal for the Study of the Christian Church.
Patricia's MA Theology dissertation (Leeds, 2007) focused on the development of the concept of the Church as the Body of Christ during the twelfth century, while her PhD (Durham, 2016) examined the theologies of work of Marie-Dominique Chenu OP and Joseph Cardijn.
Patricia was Senior Lecturer in Catholic Studies at Leeds Trinity University from 2013 until 2019, where she taught modules in Christian doctrine, Church history, and Scripture, and developed a Catholic pathway through the BA Theology programme. She also ran the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies programme (for teachers in Catholic schools in England & Wales) at Leeds Trinity, and taught a number of core modules there and at other centres.
Having worked in academic publishing and media relations, Patricia established a translation and editorial business in 2004, specialising in theology; she continues to enjoy translating books, articles, and book chapters.
Patricia has been Secretary to the Catholic Theological Association of Great Britain since 2018.
