Research overview
Ophelia started her PhD in September 2023. She is interested in the evolution of animal behaviour in response to their environment and how both natural and sexual selection come together to determine succces. Her research focuses on exploring new avenues of pre- and post-copulatory sexual selection in seed bug species using behavioural experiments both in the laboratory and the field. In particular, she is interested in investigating the role of cryptic choice in explaining the high rates of mating failure observed in these species.
