Personal profile

Research overview

I'm a structural / data geologist with many years of experience working (and teaching) in different structural and exploration (outcrops) terrains with all forms of geoscientific data, including remote sensing, drone imagery, geomechanical/numerical data, microstructural data etc., for fault and/fracture network characterization. In particular, my research utilizes GIS tools and remote sensing to study the interaction of fracture networks in diverse rocks, fracture topology, flow in fractures under changing stress conditions, and geomechanical simulations of fracture networks.

Projects from former institutions

Previously, I have worked on the diagenetic history of carbonate rocks in different depositional environments and field characterization of regional important fault zones, e.g., Carboneras fault (Spain), Latemar faults (Italy) etc. Also, I have understudied the impact of fault zones on the properties of deep geothermal carbonate reservoir units (e.g., Devonian of NRW., Germany) using different GIS tools.
