Nina Maksimova builds software to interpret cosmological narratives. She did her undergraduate work at Dartmouth College in theoretical cosmology, then completed a PhD at Harvard University in supercomputing for astrophysics, in 2022. Her thesis centred on the co-creation of AbacusSummit, the world’s largest set of high-accuracy cosmological N-body simulations to date. She then augmented her training in the mathematical and programming languages with an MLitt from the University of St Andrews in the Biblical Languages and Literature. As a postdoctoral fellow, she is designing software to facilitate biblical exegesis and literary analysis of stories that ask universal questions: where did our Universe come from? How will it end? What is our role in its larger logos?
