    Biography

    Dr Sreenan came to St Andrews in August 2023 as Lecturer in Comparative Literature. He received his PhD and MA in Comparative Literature from University College London and King's College London, respectively, and has a joint honours degree in Music and English from University College Cork. Dr Sreenan is a member of the British Comparative Literature Association and the British Society for Literature and Science. 

    Research interests

    Dr Sreenan's research interests are intedisciplinary and cross-cultural and include: 

    Darwinism and 19th century realism; utopian writing and theory; the representation of islands in literature and philosophy; Irish writing in the late 19th and early 20th century; psychoanalytic theory and criticism. 

    Dr Sreenan would be interested to hear from potential graduate students  in any of the above areas with a desire to work comparatively.
