Personal profile
Research overview
Mia is currently undertaking a PhD investigating marine ecosystem change in the Amundsen Sea, Antarctica. Her research focuses on polynyas, which are areas of open water surrounded by sea ice, and understanding how they vary with different environmental drivers. She is linking this back to ecosystem change and the consequences this will have for marine life.
Mia's research is funded by Drivers of Oceanic Change in the Amundsen Sea (DeCAdeS).
