Personal profile

Research overview

I began working on my PhD in September 2023 under the supervision of Prof Andrew Pettegree and Dr Arthur der Weduwen. My research focuses on the development and accessibility of libraries in Scotland from 1450 until Andrew Carnegie began investing in them in 1883. More generally, I am interested in early modern libraries across the globe and book collecting.

In addition to my PhD, I work for the Universal Short Title Catalogue (USTC). The USTC contains the largest database of books printed from 1450 to 1700.

I previously studied at the University of York, where I completed my undergraduate degree in History in July 2022. I continued my studies at St Andrews completing my MLitt in Book History in August 2023.
