Teaching activity

My approach to teaching is learner-led, enthusiastic, and empathetic, with a strong focus on multimodal learning and practice. I have been teaching at tertiary level in various forms since 2017 and I am currently completing a Masters-level teaching qualification, the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).

Research interests

My research centres on manuscript studies, vernacular poetry, textual editing, and cultures of pastoral care across the early and later Middle Ages. I am especially interested in reading practices and how they relate to changing penitential, linguistic, and oral traditions. My doctoral thesis will produce a partial edition and critical study of Robert Mannyng's early 14th-century poem Handlyng Synne, with a view to finish the full text and publish this sorely-needed new critical edition as a post-doctoral project.
