Linh’s research focuses on bank corporate culture, deposit insurance, and financial regulation, and how these factors shape bank behaviour, financial stability, and credit outcomes.

His work on bank culture explores how internal organisational factors influence risk-taking and lending decisions. He also examines deposit insurance and related policies, focusing on their effects on stability, risk-taking, and depositor protection. In addition, his research looks at credit supply and demand, including how banks and borrowers respond to shocks, information, and regulatory changes, particularly in mortgage markets.

Linh’s research has been published in top journals, including the Journal of International Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Review of Corporate Finance Studies, Journal of Financial Stability, and British Journal of Management. He currently serves as the editor of the Working Paper Series for the Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance of the University of St Andrews Business School, where he is also the Director of the MSc Banking and Finance Programme.

Linh is a Senior Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the University of St Andrews Business School. He has also held a visiting position at Fordham University, New York and Chuo University, Tokyo. Before transitioning to academia, he served as Head of Treasury at Saigonbank in Vietnam. Linh holds an MA with Distinction in Banking and Finance and a PhD in Banking from Bangor University.
