Personal profile
Biography
I am a PhD student at the University of St Andrews, funded by the Jane Lively Stewart PhD Scholarship. The title of my project is "Blue Carbon: Pushing the Frontiers." Through this work I am investigating how blue carbon science can be applied to inform policy and tackle global challenges in order to benefit climate, people, and nature, particularly at northern latitudes. My work is affiliated with the UN Ocean Decade Programme for Blue Carbon in the Global Ocean (GO-BC), the Polar Ocean Mitigation Potential (POMP) project, the University of St Andrew's Blue Carbon Research Centre, as well as the Environmental Change Research Group at the School of Geography and Sustainable Development.
Before coming to the University of St Andrews, I graduated with a Master of Environmental Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2021, with a specialization in climate change impacts and adaptations. I then worked for three years in both the private and public sector, most recently employed as a climate change policy analyst with Fisheries and Oceans Canada/Canadian Coast Guard.
