Personal profile

Biography

Dr Katharina Hunfeld’s research and teaching focus on various aspects of feminist, decolonial and Marxist thought on the climate crisis, as well as the politics of time & temporality. She is particularly interested in the relations, practices and imaginaries that enable and empower concrete political action towards a greener future.

Kat is currently working on a book manuscript based on her doctoral research. This book project is an invitation to see global justice through the lens of (conceptual and temporal) relationality, combining insights from different traditions of radical thought. Featuring chapters on knowledge, capital, desire, ecology and time, the book asks: What does it take to think truly relationally about justice?

Kat is also a member of the editorial collective of the journal Historical Materialism, and always welcomes inquiries about submissions to the journal and its annual conferences.
