I'm researching space & time dependent collapsing magnetic trap (CMT) models for particle acceleration in solar flares with the overall aim of developing a more sophisticated 3D CMT model in the future. In order to achieve this, a big section of my research is about building a better understanding of the mechanisms that contribute towards particle acceleration in existing 2D & 3D CMT models.
