PhD projects

I am interested in supervising dissertations on subjects related to the historic, modern and contemporary arts of Africa (particularly Ethiopia), colonial / post-colonial collections of art from Africa, arts of the African diaspora (particularly in the UK), Cold War art and culture (non-aligned countries, Soviet-African cultural exchange, etc) and non-Western art historiography.
