Biography
Julie joined the School of Management as Director of Postgraduate Programmes in 2005 and is working to continuously improve the experience offered to students across the taught Masters Programmes. She also has responsibility for marketing of and student recruitment to the taught Masters Programmes and travels abroad to meet with potential students on behalf of the School of Management.
Julie's academic interests are in marketing, and in particular consumer behaviour, marketing/advertising to children and the wider impact of marketing on society. She is also interested in public and voluntary sector management and corporate social responsibility. Julie spent seven years living and working in Moscow and has a particular interest in economic development and the provision of business and management education in Russia.
Prior to joining the University, Julie held a senior position in local government in Scotland. Previously, she had experience of working in the private, public and NGO sectors both in the UK and in Russia. She has an MBA from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in Government and Russian Studies from Cornell University.
