Academic/Professional Qualification
Dr Coderch got his BA (5-year degree) in Classics at the University of Barcelona in 1985, his MA at the University of Sheffield in 1986 and his PhD at the University of Barcelona (1991).
Teaching activity
Dr Coderch is in charge of the teaching of both Greek and Latin at all levels. His main activity is teaching both Greek and Latin ab initio and language consolidation (in 1st and 2nd year) for students who have already got notions of the language. In 3rd and 4th years, he teaches Greek Prose Composition and Latin Prose Composition.
Biography
Born in Barcelona in 1962, he moved to the UK in 2003. He taught Greek and Latin at the University of Oxford during the period 2003-2007 for the Faculty of Classics (including a year as Lecturer at Merton College) and in 2007 he joined the University of St Andrews, where he goes on teaching both languages.
Other expertise
He is very interested in the Latinitas Viva and the Graecitas Viva, the usage of Greek and Latin as live languages, both at written and spoken level. He is also interested in the study of several modern languages.
