Personal profile
Research overview
I'm an economic geologist and geochemist whose research focuses on the magmatic and hydrothermal processes that form ore deposits throughout the evolution of Earth's crust and mantle.
My PhD project specifically focuses on the study of the petrogenesis of Archean lithium pegmatites from the Zimbabwe craton - my main area of study includes the active Arcadia mine and Step Aside exploration, both located on the eastern limb of Harare Greenstone Belt, and comprising a new Li district in Zimbabwe. My research project include:
- Fieldwork and core logging
- In-situ mineral chemistry through LA-ICPMS and EPMA to trace volatile and metal budget through Li-rich pegmatitic systems
- Geochronology (U-Pb) and radiogenic isotopes (Lu-Hf and Pb-Pb) to correlate formation of pegmatite Li mineral deposits with early Earth geodynamics.
