Research overview

Research Interests:

  • History of  (International) Political Thought: I have a special focus on Thomas Hobbes. Additionally, I maintain a broad interest in thinkers such as Jean Bodin, Hugo Grotius, Francisco Suárez, Francisco de Vitoria, Alberico Gentili, and so on. My focus areas include the natural law tradition, state theories, ideas of war, colonialism, and international law during 15-17c.

  • Classical Republicanism: Particular focus on Polybius's Roman republican thought.
