Zifeng Pan is a PhD candidate at the University of St Andrews. His research examines the transformation of China’s publishing sector during the reform era, with particular focus on the everyday editorial practices of publishing professionals and the negotiation between the institutional constraints and the emerging market logic. His work engages with questions of cultural production, circulation, and the formation of intellectual and reading culture in China.
