* MHD Waves: basic properties of MHD wave propagation in the solar corona (e.g phase mixing, wave damping, mode coupling)
* Coronal Seismology: observations and modelling of MHD waves in the solar atmosphere
* Wavelet Analysis: applicability of wavelet analysis to solar observations + development of automated detection codes
* Forward Modelling: development of forward modelling code which allows deduction of observational properties of theoretical models
* Magnetic Reconnection: 3D numerical simulations of the effect of small scale footpoint motions
