Research overview

Since 2025, Hannah has been the Research and Capacity Building Manager for Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland (MASTS). A newly established role where she will be instrumental in managing the research groups and forums within MASTS and assisting in the continuation of MASTS PhD graduate school. MASTS is a consortium made up on 18 partner institutions, all with a vested interest in the marine and aquatic environment.  Hannah also runs MASTS social media and external communications streams ensuring the MASTS community is up-to-date and creating a two-way interaction between researchers and the audiences.

In 2023, Hannah was the Engagement Coordinator for MASTS promoting Scotland's marine research excellence its partner organisations to both the public and policys. Previously, Hannah was part of the People Ocean Planet team, coordinator of the Coastal Resources Management Group and Project Manager for the Sustainable Fisheries Interactions and Conservation of Elasmobranchs in Scottish seas;  Project Manager for the £1.5m EMFF Scottish Inshore Fisheries Integrated Data System (SIFIDS) Project. She was also a researcher for the Fishpi2 project looking into electronic data collection and reporting systems and trials for Northern European small-scale fisheries.
