Research overview

As the Engagement Coordinator for the Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland (MASTS), Hannah assists MASTS in promoting Scotland's marine research excellence from it's 17 partner organisations to both the public and policy through innovative methods. Hannah runs MASTS social media and external communications streams ensuring the MASTS community is up-to-date and creating a two-way interaction between researchers and the audiences of MASTS. Hannah is part of the People Ocean Planet team, coordinator of the Coastal Resources Management Group and Project Manager for the Sustainable Fisheries Interactions and Conservation of Elasmobranchs in Scottish seas based at the University of St Andrews and twitter handle is @h_laddjones.

Previous role: Project Manager for the £1.5m EMFF Scottish Inshore Fisheries Integrated Data System (SIFIDS) Project based at the University of St Andrews after completing her Conservation and Biodiversity Masters with the University of Exeter in 2017. She was also a researcher for the Fishpi2 project looking into electronic data collection and reporting systems and trials for Northern European small-scale fisheries. She operates at the interface between fisheries science, policy and industry monitoring and provides day to day support for the project’s progress. Her interests surround inshore fisheries management and sustainability.
