Personal profile

Research overview

I am an education-focussed academic whose primary interests lie in the enhancement of bioscience education.  I am particularly interested in considering how bioscience pedagogy may need to change to enable students to engage with the ever increasing pace and volume of bioscience research.  I am also interested in considering how to enhance the resilience of students in the face or complex scientific problems or wider societal situations.

Prior to becoming an education-focussed academic, my research interests lay in the areas of membrane trafficking and regulated exocytosis.  My research focussed on the role of protein isoforms in regulated exocytosis and the role that post-translational modifications (phosphorylation and palmitoylation) play in this process.
