Personal profile

Research interests

My research interested evolve around the role of women, their representation, and attitudes towards women in medieval literature, examining especially the relationship between women and violence. In my previous works I have analysed the representation of women in Old English poetics and their heroic abilities as well as depictions of sexual assault towards women in Middle English romance. My current doctoral research on the Nine Worthy Women in medieval English and Scottish literature builds on these previous works and expands them, focussing on ideas of female leadership and connections between gender and power.
