Personal profile

Research overview

I am a PhD student interested in international migration and social inequality, focusing on international student mobility (ISM). The project I am currently working on looks at the influence of the Chinese hukou system (an internal migration regulation) on Chinese ISM and their employment outcomes after returning. This project aims to facilitate an understanding of how social institutions and policies in ISM-sending countries could affect the geography and outcomes of ISM. Looking beyond the perspective of individuals’ development of ISM, this project incorporates the viewpoint of urban governance into ISM studies.
