Our laboratory is engaged in developing synthetic routes to complex, functional systems through the programmed application of non-covalent interactions in self-assembly and in replication processes. At all levels, our research exploits the interplay between experimental and computational science, encompassing synthetic chemistry, reaction kinetics, numerical simulations, advanced spectroscopic methods and computational chemistry for the design and construction of complex chemical systems. Our approach involves the reshaping of principles from life sciences by creating a wholly synthetic chemical framework that exploits the principles of dynamic systemic resolution, out-of-equilibrium processes and replication to create chemical systems that display complex behaviour.
