Biography

I am a Professor of Banking and Finance at the Department of Finance, University of St Andrews Business School. I am also a member of the Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance. I read for my doctorate at the University of Essex under a scholarship from the Essex Business School.  Prior to my doctoral studies, I obtained an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Essex and a BSc in Economics from the University of Patras.

My current research interests lie in the intersection of financial intermediation and corporate finance. My research has been published in journals including the British Journal of Management, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Empirical Finance and Journal of Financial Stability. I am also an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Finance (since 2016) and a regular member of the American Finance Association, the European Finance Association, and the Financial Management Association.
