Mrs
I am an experienced educator and early career researcher with expertise in primary education, teacher education, and curriculum development. I currently teach English at a Cambridge International School in the Czech Republic, where I also serve on the Initial Teacher Education accreditation committee at the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
Prior to my current role, I was a Lecturer in Education at the University of Cumbria, where I taught on PGCE and BA (Hons) Primary Education programmes. My teaching responsibilities spanned professional studies, primary mathematics, and the psychology of education. Before moving into higher education, I spent ten years as an Assistant Headteacher and class teacher in a UK primary school, leading curriculum innovation and staff development.
I hold an MSc in Learning and Teaching from the University of Oxford and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. In 2025, I began a Professional Doctorate (DProf) in TESOL, reflecting my ongoing commitment to advancing inclusive, reflective, and globally-minded teaching practices.
My research interests include dialogic teaching, pupil voice, and strategies to engage minority ethnic and multilingual learners. I am currently exploring how dialogic teaching practices can support global learning and sustainability education, with a focus on developing critical thinking, cultural awareness, and ethical responsibility in young learners.
I have taught across primary, secondary, and higher education settings in both the UK and the Czech Republic. My higher education teaching has included modules in professional studies, primary mathematics education, and the psychology of education on both undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education programmes at the University of Cumbria.
I currently deliver English language education within a Cambridge International curriculum framework in the Czech Republic and contribute to national teacher education policy through my role at the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
