Personal profile

Research overview

How do we orient attention? What happens in spatial neglect, a disorder in which the patients are strikingly unaware of stimuli that appear to their left despite adequate vision? My research seeks to answer these questions, by focusing on sensorimotor processes that are at the foundation of higher-order cognition. In my work I combine cognitive neuroscientific methods that allow me to study the human brain at high spatial resolution (fMRI) with those that allow to make causal inferences (TMS and the study of patients who have suffered a brain lesion).
