Biography

Christopher is a PhD student in the School of English at St Andrews. He works on the intersection of technological modernity and the narration of space and community in a range of novels throughout the twentieth century. Specifically, he looks at the ways in which developing technologies of mobility affect our understanding of space, individuality, and communal identity. As such, his work exists between literature, social histories, and phenomenology. His project currently has a title, although he doesn't like it, so it won't be reproduced here. This project is supervised by Dr James Purdon.
