Research overview

My PhD research focuses on exploring the vibrant world of Youth Environmental Actions in Vietnam, particularly through the lens of Climate Action organisations. This project delves into the lived experiences, motivations, and identity constructions of young Vietnamese individuals actively engaged in environmental causes. Employing a qualitative approach that includes semi-structured interviews, participant observation, autoethnography, and focus groups, the study aims to uncover the rich tapestry of cultural, social, and individual factors that drive and shape youth engagement in environmentalism. By highlighting the narratives of these young activists, the research seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of environmental citizenship among youth and to provide insights that could inform strategies for engaging young people in environmental issues more effectively. This research not only promises to enrich academic discourse in environmental studies and youth activism but also aims to offer practical insights for policymakers and environmental organizations in Vietnam and across the world.
