Research overview

I am an Associate Lecturer in Spatial Data Science. I joined the School of Geography and Sustainable Development in December 2022. 

My main research interests span:

  • urban housing using online housing searches
  • spatial accessibility 
  • urban inequalities and developing deprivation indices
  • data visualisation and storytelling
  • interpreting urban design and planning using virtual reality.

I am currently a co-researcher in the CEE-VR project: HEIF Higher Education innovation funding Community Engagement with Virtual & Augmented Reality: Shirebrook market redevelopment project to engage in participatory design of community spaces with immersive visualisation. 

I am a member of the Bell-Edwards Geographic Data Institute

I am an Associate Editor for the Housing & Society Journal

Prior to joining the SGSD, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Geosciences and Geography at the University of Helsinki, Finland, in the YLLI- project. I obtained my PhD in Urban Studies and Planning in the USP department at the University of Sheffield.
