Research overview

Caixia is a PhD candidate in Banking and Finance at the University of St Andrews. She started her PhD study from September 2018. She received her master degree from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, China. Her master dissertation is about A Philosophical Reflection Based on the Irrational Behaviour in the Chinese Stock Market. She is a member of the Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance (CRBF).

Caixia’s research mainly focuses on corporate finance in China. Specifically, her research is about corporate governance and political uncertainty in China, such as the role of independent directors on dividend payout, the impact of political turnover on corporate investment and cash management. She is also interested in corporate innovation, banking, political economy and corporate social responsibility.
