Government revenue losses and the impact on child rights in lower income countries

Research overview

Dr O'Hare is a Reader in Global Health and the deputy head of the Division of Infection and Global Health in the School of Medicine.
She leads the Government Revenue and Development Estimations, (GRADE) project. The team translate the impact of changes in government revenue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and chairs the International Strand of the Working Group on Climate Change.  She was recently seconded to the Scottish Global Health Co-ordination Unit where she initiated the Active Global Citizenship strand of work and currently is the lead champion of academia. She formerly sat on the advocacy committee and the international board of the RCPCH. Dr O’Hare worked in the NHS before working in Africa for ten years as a consultant paediatrician and public health doctor.
